COUNCILMEMBER HANSEN INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION:
WHEREAS, Cargill campus just outside of Blair, Nebraska has grown over the years in
its current location which has generated increased number of large trucks for deliveries to and
from the Cargill campus;
WHEREAS, there is concerns from the public about the safety of the intersection of
Industrial Drive and Highway 30 due to the increased volume of large truck traffic and the
overall Highway 30 traffic;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BLAIR, NEBRASKA; hereby request that the State of Nebraska Department of Roads perform a
traffic study on Highway 30 at the Industrial Drive intersection to determine whether there are
sufficient warrants to require the installation of traffic signals at this intersection.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BLAIR, NEBRASKA, that the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to
contact the State of Nebraska Department of Roads to make an official request for a traffic study
for the area set forth above.
COUNCIL MEMBER HANSEN MOVED THAT THE RESOLUTION BE ADOPTED AS
READ, WHICH SAID MOTION WAS SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER WILLIS.
UPON ROLL CALL, COUNCIL MEMBERS SHEPARD, STEWART, HANSEN, WILLIS,
WOLFF, ANDERSEN, HALL AND JENSEN VOTING "AYE" AND COUNCIL MEMBERS
NONE VOTING "NAY", THE MAYOR DECLARED THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 26TH DAY OF JANUARY, 2016.
