Dear Mr. Johnson:
This is a courtesy letter to notify you that we have received a complaint regarding keeping
chickens without a permit on your property located at the 715 S. 10th. This is a violation of the
following municipal codes:
Code Description
06 -202.1 (A) FOWL, CONTROLLED WITHIN MUNICIPALITY; PERMIT PROCESS. Except
as permitted by subsection E of this section, it shall be unlawful for any person,
corporation, firm, or other entity, in the capacity of owner occupant, lessee,
mortgagee, or agent thereof, to keep or maintain, within the corporate limits of
Blair, Nebraska, any chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, pheasants, quail, ostrich,
or other fowl except such fowl as are within the said corporate limits temporarily
for exhibition purposes and are kept in sanitary and enclosed areas at least one
hundred fifty (150') feet from any habitable structure owned by any person or
business.
Your tenet, Mr. Frieze, has been informed of the violation and he is going to apply for a permit.
If he fails to obtain a permit, a formal notice will be sent to you and to Mr. Frieze explaining that
he will have five (5) days to remove the chickens..
