Dear Property Owner:
On July 8, 2015, a "Stop Work Order" was posted at the above address with a request to
contact Blair City Hall to discuss this code violation. To date, there has been no contact to
resolve this matter. j
A building permit is required for the construction work that is currently underway and for
the storm damage repairs to the roof and the siding of the house.
Failure to obtain a building permit is in violation of Blair Municipal Code Section 9 -104
which states:
It shall be unlawful to commence or to proceed with the erection,
construction, reconstruction, conversion, alteration, enlargement, or
extension of the exterior of any building or any part thereof, or to move or
raze any building or structure without first having applied in writing to the
Municipal Clerk and being issued a building permit to do so.
Furthermore, failure to obtain all necessary permits will result in a property maintenance
inspection, which will include the interior and exterior of all existing structures. After the
inspection, you will receive a letter outlining the violations that need to be corrected and a
deadline for having them corrected. If no violations are found, the city will issue you a
letter to that effect.
To obtain the permits, please contact Blair City Hall at (402) 426 -4191, between 8:00 AM
and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. If a permit has not been applied for within seven (7)
days of the date of this letter, a request for a property maintenance inspection will be sent.
