2007-36COUNCIL MEMBER BIFFAR INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION:
WHEREAS, the City of Blair is in the process of creating TIF District #2 located within the
corporate city limits of the City of Blair in an area that is has been identified substandard and
blighted, and
WHEREAS, the City of Blair Staff as part of the process of developing this TIF District #2
has identified concerns regarding the Union Pacific Railroad field office building located in this area,
and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of Blair that the
City of Blair Staff are authorized to work with the Union Pacific Railroad in an attempt to resolve
the issues concerning the location of the field office building and including but not limited to the
adjustment of the City of Blair right -a -way along Front Street, as necessary, to allow for development
of this substandard and blighted area located within the City of Blair, Nebraska, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Blair, Nebraska
are hereby authorized and directed to execute the necessary on behalf the Municipality.
COUNCIL MEMBER ABBOTT MOVED THAT THE RESOLUTION BE ADOPTED AS READ,
WHICH SAID MOTION WAS SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER BIFFAR. UPON ROLL
CALL, COUNCIL MEMBERS STEWART, SHOTWELL, SCHEVE, CHRISTIANSEN, ABBOTT
AND BIFFAR VOTING "AYE" AND COUNCIL MEMBERS NONE VOTING "NAY ", THE
MAYOR DECLARED THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION WAS PASSED AND APPROVED
THIS 22ND DAY OF MAY, 2007.
