Disaster Funding Letter To StateIhYse of qv June 6, 2012 Adjutant General Major General Judd Lyons Nebraska Emergency Management Agency 1300 Military Rd Lincoln NE 68508 Re: State Disaster Funding Dear Mr. Lyons: First let me thank you and your staff for all the assistance you provided the City of Blair during 2011 flooding of the Missouri River, Federal disaster 4013, and the continued support in working through the FEMA process to obtain disaster assistance. Secondly, as we move forward in our budgeting process for future fiscal years, we would like to know whether the State of Nebraska will be participating in the payment of eligible disaster costs. Our understanding is that in the past, the State of Nebraska has helped fund the disaster preparation and recovery by paying 50% of the local cost after FEMA reimbursement or 12%2% of the total eligible cost. It is important for us to have this information so we can finalize future budget plans for the City's share of the disaster costs and better determine if we need to be setting up short term or long term financing and what effect it will have on future tax levies. If you could please respond back at your earliest convenience I would appreciate it. Sincer y, f Rodney A.
