Re: State Disaster Funding
Dear Mr. Storm:
Adjutant General Judd Lyons forwarded to me your recent letter inquiring on the status of
the Governor's commitment to local disaster funding reference to Federal DR 4013. 1
wanted to take this opportunity to reaffirm the Governor's commitment to the counties and
local communities of the state for state disaster assistance as a partial match to the federal
requirement.
For budgeting purposes, NEMA presented to the Governor the estimated costs for state
support to pay 50% of the local disaster match to the 75% federal reimbursement for
eligible disaster costs. The just concluded legislative session approved the funds for the
Governor's Emergency Fund that will provide this assistance. The City of Blair's cost
share for this disaster will be 12.5% of the eligible disaster costs, with the state matching
with 12.5% and the federal share being 75 %.
While it is now one year from the disaster declaration, we continue with support from
FEMA to work through the writing, approving and obligating of the project work sheets,
determining eligibility and making payments. Hopefully this information clarifies your
ability to build future budgets for the City of Blair. If you need any further information or
clarification, please contact me for assistance.
