Re: Building Permit
Dear Mr. Storm,
We are in receipt of your letter dated May 1, 2009, with regard to our permit for the construction of a retaining wall at
1939 Pleasant Valley Blvd. We acknowledge the City Building Permit procedures and understand some of the
concerns surrounding the condition of the site. We are in this situation due to the national lending atmosphere, and
have been unable to secure a loan for our project in a timely manner. Our Broker assures us our loan will close soon
and we will be able to complete the retaining wall by the end of May. Therefore, we respectfully request an extension
of the permit until that time.
As for the complaints as to the condition of the property, we have been assured by the engineer and installer there
aren't any safety concerns with the partial wall or erosion at this time, especially if people are not trespassing on the
property. As the property is protected from southern, western and eastern winds, and a north wind would only blow
dust into the wall, we are surprised there are complaints about dust, but we will work to abate the issue. Also, the
property was mowed the same day your letter was written, and will continue to be maintained as it has been since we
purchased the property. If any additional complaints are reported, please let us know what they are as soon as
possible so we can remedy the situation.
We appreciate the City's patience while we diligently work through our financing issues. Please let us know how you
wish to proceed. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Or
