Dear Property Owner:
You have received a several letters notifying you that we had received a complaint regarding excess trailers,
junk equipment, unlicensed vehicles and other miscellaneous junk on your property located at the above
address. To date, the violation has not been corrected / removed.
This is a violation of the following municipal codes:
Code Description
04 -501 NUISANCES, GENERALLY DEFINED. A nuisance consists in doing any unlawful act, or omitting to
perform a duty, or suffering or permitting any condition or thing to be or exist, which act, omission,
condition or thing either: 1) Injures or endangers the comfort, repose, health or safety of others. 2)
Offends decency. 3) Is offensive to the senses. 4) Unlawfully interferes with, obstructs, tends to
obstruct or renders dangerous for passage any stream, public park, parkway, square street, or
highway in the Municipality. 5) In any way renders other persons insecure in life or the use of
property, or 6) Essentially interferes with the comfortable enjoyment of life and property, or tends to
depreciate the value of the property of oth
04 -506 NUISANCES; WEEDS, GRASSES, AND WORTHLESS VEGETATION; LITTER. In addition tc the
definitions as provided in Sections 4 501 to 4 505 inclusive, a nuisance is hereby declared to be and
defined as permitting, allowing, or maintaining any growth of twelve inches or more in height of
weeds, grasses, or worthless vegetation, or to litter or cause litter to be deposited or remain on any
premise in the municipality except in proper receptacles.
06 -333 MISDEMEANORS JUNK ACCUMULATIONS. It shall be unlawful for any property owner or lessee
to allow an accumulation of junk on property that is located within the corporate limits to the extent
that such accumulation is a potential hazard to the health and safety of the residents of the
Municipality. Junk shall mean old scrap, copper, brass, iron, steel, rope, rags, batteries, paper,
trash, rubber debris, waste, motor vehicles or recreational equipment of any kind including, but not
limited to, motorcycles, all terrain vehicles, automobiles, trucks, boats and trailers which are
dismantled, unlicensed or unregistered in violation of Chapter 60, Article 3 R.R.S. Nebraska (as
;amended from time to time), abandoned, inoperable, or wrecked automobiles or parts thereof,
wood, limbs, vegetation, and other old or scrap ferrous or nonferrous material.
We will grant you until November 23. 2014 to correct this violation or a $100 citation will be issued You will
not receive any additional extensions or warnings. If your property is not cleared of the items listed in the
attached pictures, not only will you receive a citation, but the city will hire a contractor to clean up your property
and assess the cost of clean up to your property. Also attached, is a calendar depicting the dates and times
for the city wide cleanup.
