COUNCIL MEMBER KEPHART INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION:
WHEREAS, the City of Blair signed an agreement with Omaha Public Power District
and Ordinance No. 1368 was passed by the City Council of the City of Blair, Nebraska on the
27th day of March 1984. The agreement and amendments thereto provide for the Omaha Public
Power District to conduct a retail electric energy supply business within the City of Blair and
deliver an adequate and continuous supply of electric energy to the City of Blair and its
inhabitants.
WHEREAS, the above - referenced agreement will expire on March 31, 2014.
WHEREAS, the City of Blair and the Omaha Public Power District wish to extend the
above - referenced franchise agreement for a period of six (6) months in order to enter into
negotiations on the terms of a potential long term franchise agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the agreement and amendments thereto
providing for the Omaha Public Power District to conduct a retail electric energy supply business
within the City of Blair and deliver an adequate and continuous supply of electric energy to the
City of Blair and its inhabitants shall be extended for a period of six (6) months from the current
expiration date of March 31, 2014 and shall expire on September 30, 2014 and the City Council
of the City of Blair, Nebraska authorize the, execution of the extension agreement attached
hereto.
COUNCIL MEMBER KEPHART MOVED THAT THE RESOLUTION BE ADOPTED,
WHICH SAID MOTION WAS SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER JENSEN. UPON
ROLL CALL, COUNCIL MEMBERS STEWART, KEPHART, RYAN, CHRISTIANSEN,
ANDERSEN, JENSEN AND HALL VOTING "AYE ", AND COUNCIL MEMBERS NONE
VOTING "NAY ", THE MAYOR DECLARED THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION PASSED
AND ADOPTED THIS 25TH DAY OF MARCH, 2014.

FRANCHISE AGREEMENT EXTENSION
This Agreement, made this 25th day of March, 2014 by and between The City of Blair,
Nebraska, a Nebraska Municipal Corporation and The Omaha Public Power District, a public
corporation and political subdivision of the State of Nebraska.
WHEREAS, the City of Blair signed an agreement with Omaha Public Power District
and Ordinance No. 1368 was passed by the City Council of the City of Blair, Nebraska on the
27th day of March 1984. The agreement and amendments thereto provide for the Omaha Public
Power District to conduct a retail electric energy supply business within the City of Blair and
deliver an adequate and continuous supply of electric energy to the City of Blair and its
inhabitants.
WHEREAS, the above - referenced agreement will expire on March 31, 2014.
WHEREAS, the City of Blair and the Omaha Public Power District wish to extend the
above - referenced franchise agreement for a period of six (6) months in order to enter into
negotiations on the terms of a potential long term franchise agreement.
In consideration of the mutual covenants contained herein and intending to be legally
bound hereby, the Parties hereto agree as follows:
The agreement and amendments thereto providing for the Omaha Public Power District
to conduct a retail electric energy supply business within the City of Blair and deliver an
adequate and continuous supply of electric energy to the City of Blair and its inhabitants shall be
extended for a period of six (6) months from the current expiration date of March 31, 2014 and
shall expire on September 30, 2014.
