2007-08COUNCILMEMBER ABBOTT INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION:
WHEREAS, the City of Blair has endorsed the concept of a regional water
system, and
WHEREAS, the City of Blair has contracts to furnish to the Papio NRD Rural
Water System in Washington County, Village of Kennard, Omaha Public Power District,
and Cargill Inc. in addition to the City's regular residential and commercial customers,
and
RESOLUTION NO. 2007 - 8
WHEREAS, the capacity of the water treatment plant needs expanded to meet the
current and future water demands for the City of Blair and regional system, and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost of the proposed plant expansion is estimated at
approximately $12,000,000, and
WHEREAS, the City of Blair desires to issue revenue bonds to finance the
project,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council that the
Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized to submit the necessary application
to the Nebraska Investment Finance Authority to secure a bond allocation sufficient to
fund the project.
COUNCILMEMBER ABBOTT MOVED THAT THE RESOLUTION BE ADOPTED
AS READ, WHICH SAID MOTION WAS SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER
FANOELE. UPON ROLL CALL, COUNCIL MEMBERS STEWART, SCHEVE,
SHOTWELL, FANOELE, CHRISTIANSEN, WOLFF, ABBOTT AND BIFFAR
VOTING "AYE ", AND COUNCIL MEMBERS NONE VOTING "NAY ", THE
MAYOR DECLARED THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION PASSED AND ADOPTED
THIS 13TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, 2007.
