2006-21RESOLUTION NO. 2006 - 21
COUNCIL MEMBER FANOELE INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION:
WHEREAS, the City of Blair, Nebraska, has received funds as an eligible unit of a general
local government under the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 as Amended for
Small Cities Community Development Block Grant Program; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Blair, Nebraska, has identified an appropriate use of the funds
received in the Community Development Block Grant Program account to remove a residence that
has been declared slummed and blighted. These funds will be used to purchase real estate located
at Lot 30 less 188.50 sq. ft. of right of way, Blair City (1302 Lincoln Street), Washington County,
Nebraska, for the purchase price and demolition in the amount of $22,000 for the purpose of
removing a residence that has been declared slummed and blighted.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BLAIR, NEBRASKA that the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Blair, Nebraska be authorized
and directed to proceed with the formulation of any and all contracts, documents or other
memoranda between the City of Blair and the owner of said real estate to effectuate the purchase
of said real estate.
COUNCIL MEMBER ABBOTT MOVED THAT THE RESOLUTION BE ADOPTED AS
READ, WHICH SAID MOTION WAS SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER WOLFF. UPON
ROLL CALL, COUNCIL MEMBERS STEWART, SCHEVE, SHOTWELL, ABBOTT, WOLFF,
FANOELE AND MCMANIGAL VOTING "AYE ", AND COUNCIL MEMBERS NONE
VOTING "NAY", THE MAYOR DECLARED THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION PASSED
AND ADOPTED THIS 23RD DAY OF MAY, 2006.
