COUNCIL MEMBER ABBOTT INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING ORDINANCE:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BLAIR, NEBRASKA, ANNEXING AND
EXTENDING THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BLAIR TO INCLUDE THE
REAL ESTATE WHICH IS GENERALLY DESCRIBED AS TAX LOTS 42, 53, 59, 88, 121
AND 122 OF SECTION 23, TOWNSHIP 18 NORTH, RANGE 11 EAST OF THE 6 P.M.;
SOUTHERN RIDGE SUBDIVISION (LOTS 1 -31) AND FORMER TAX LOT 4 IN SECTION
22, TOWNSHIP 18 NORTH, RANGE 11 EAST OF THE 6 P.M. INCLUDING HIGHWAY
30 FROM CURRENT BLAIR CITY LIMITS TO THE INTERSECTION OF COUNTY ROAD
26 AND COUNTY ROADS 26 AND 31 ADJOINING THE ABOVE LISTED SUBDIVISION
AND TAX LOTS; AND THOSE PARTS OF COUNTY ROAD 26 LYING IN SECTION 26
AND 27 OF TOWNSHIP 18 NORTH, RANGE 11 EAST OF THE 6 P.M.; TAX LOTS 161,
250 AND 251 OF SECTION 13, TOWNSHIP 18 NORTH RANGE, 11 EAST OF THE 6TH
P.M.; AND TAX LOT 17 OF SECTION 18, TOWNSHIP 18 NORTH, RANGE 12 EAST OF
THE 6 P.M., ALL IN WASHINGTON COUNTY, NEBRASKA WHICH IS MORE
SPECIFICALLY DESCRIBED HEREINAFTER IN THIS ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, that parcel of real estate described above is adjacent and contiguous to the
current municipal corporate boundary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BLAIR, NEBRASKA:
WHEREAS, it appears desirable and for the public good and best interests of the City of
Blair, that an ordinance be passed annexing and extending the corporate limits of the City of
Blair to include the real estate hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, Said real state is contiguous or adjacent to the corporate limits of the City of
Blair, and is urban or suburban in character, and
Whereas, Said real estate will receive material benefits and advantages from annexation
into the corporate limits of the City of Blair.
SECTION 1. That the real estate hereinafter described be, and the same is hereby
annexed and included within the corporate limits of the City of Blair, Nebraska and said real
estate and the persons thereon shall hereafter be subject to all of the rules, regulations,
ordinances, taxes and all other burdens and benefits of other persons and territory included
within the corporate limits of the City of Blair, Nebraska.
Parcels of land located in Sections 22, 23, 26 and 27, Township 18 North, Range 11 East
of the 6 P.M., Washington County, Nebraska more particularly describes as follows:
Beginning at the southeast corner of Tax Lot 53 of said Section 23; thence westerly along
the south lot line of said Tax Lot 53 crossing from Tax Lot 53 to Tax Lot 122 and Tax
Lot 121 of said Section 23 to the northeast corner of Tax Lot 88 of said Section 23;
thence southerly along the east lot line of said Tax Lot 88 and the southerly projection of
said east line of said Tax Lot 88 to the southerly right -of -way line of County Road 26;
thence westerly along the south line of County Road 26 to a point on the southerly
projection of the western line of lots 16 and 17 of Southern Ridge; thence northerly along
said southerly projection and said westerly lot line to the northwest corner of said Lot 17;
thence to the northeast along the northwest lot line of Southern Ridge Subdivision Lot 18;
thence easterly along the north lot line of Southern Ridge Subdivision Lot 19 to the point
where former Tax Lot 4 intersects with Southern Ridge Subdivision Lot 19; thence
northerly and westerly along the west lot line of former Tax Lot 4 to the northwest corner
of former Tax Lot 4; thence easterly along the north lot line of said former Tax Lot 4 and
the easterly projection of former Tax Lot 4 to the east right -of -way of County Road 31;
thence southerly along the east line of Country Road 31 to its point of intersection on the
north line of Tax Lot 42 in Section 23; thence easterly along the north lot line of said Tax
Lot 42 to the northeast lot corner of said Tax Lot 42, this point also on the west line of
Highway 30 right -of -way; thence northeasterly along the west right -of -way of Highway
30 to the southeast corner of Tax Lot 107 of said Section 23; thence westerly along the
south lot line of said Tax Lot 107 to the southwest corner of said Tax Lot 107, this point
also being the southeast corner of Tax Lot 59 of said Section 23; thence westerly along
the south lot line of said Tax Lot 59 to the southwest comer of said Tax Lot 59; thence
northerly along the west lot line of said Tax Lot 59 to the northwest lot comer of said Tax
Lot 59; thence easterly along the north lot line of said Tax Lot 59 to the northeast lot
corner of said Tax Lot 59; thence southwesterly along the east lot line of said Tax Lot 59
to the southeast lot corner of said Tax Lot 59, this point also being the southwest lot
corner of said Tax Lot 107; thence easterly along the south lot line of said Tax Lot 107 to
the west right -of -way line of Highway 30; thence easterly to the east right -of -way line of
Highway 30, this point also the northwest lot comer of Tax Lot 122 of said Section 23;
thence easterly along the north lot line of said Tax Lot 122 to the northeast lot corner of
said Tax Lot 122, this point also being on the west right -of -way line of Highway 133;
thence southerly along the west right -of -way line of Highway 133 to the southeast lot
comer of said Tax Lot 53, the point beginning. The Area contains Tax Lots 42, 53, 59,
88, 121 and 122 of Section 23, Township 18 North, Range 11 East of the 6 P.M. and
those portions of County Road 26 lying in Sections 26 and 27 of Township 18 North,
Range 11 East of the 6" P.M. and Southern Ridge Subdivision and former Tax Lot 4 in
Section 22, Township 18, Range 11 East of the 6 P.M., including Highway 30 from
current Blair City Limits to intersection of County Road 26 and County Roads 26 and 31
adjoining the above listed Southern Ridge Subdivision and the applicable tax lots all in
Washington County, Nebraska.
And parcels of land located in Section 13, Township 18 North, Range 11 East of the 6 P.M. and
Section 18, Township 18 North, Range 12 East of the 6th P.M., all in Washington County,
Nebraska, more particularly describes as follows:
Beginning at the southwest comer of Tax Lot 250 of Section 13, Township 18 North,
Range 11 East of the 6th P.M., this point also on the easterly corporate limits of the City
of Blair, Nebraska; thence easterly along the south line of said Tax Lot 250 to the
southeast comer of said Tax Lot 250, this point also being the southwest corner of Tax
Lot 17 of Section 18, Township 18 North, Range 12 East of the 6 P.M., thence easterly
along the south lot line of said Tax Lot 17 to the south east lot corner of said Tax Lot 17,
this point also on the west lot line of the Right -of -way for the Union Pacific Railroad;
thence northwesterly along the west line of the Union Pacific Railroad Right -of -way to
the southeast lot corner of Tax Lot 176, of Section 13, Township 18 North, Range 11
East of the 6 P.M.; thence westerly along the south lot line of said Tax Lot 176 to the
southwest lot corner of said Tax Lot 176, this point also being the northwest lot corner of
Tax Lot 251 of said Section 13, this point also being on the east right -of -way line of 10
Street in Blair, Nebraska; thence southerly along the east right -of -way line of 10 Street
to a point of intersect with the south right -of -way line of Wilbur Street; thence westerly
along the south right -of -way line of Wilbur Street to the northeast lot corner of Tax Lot
249 of said Section 13; thence southerly along the east lot line of said Tax lot 249 to the
southwest lot corner of Tax Lot 250 of said Section 13 point of beginning. Area contains
Tax Lots 161, 250 and 251 of Section 13, Township 18 North, Range 11 East of the 6th
P.M. and Tax Lot 17 of Section 18, Township 18 North, Range 12 East of the 6 P.M. all
in Washington County, Nebraska.
SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication as provided by law.
