AN ORDINANCE CREATING WATER EXTENSION DISTRICT NO. 46 IN THE
CITY OF BLAIR, WASHINGTON COUNTY, NEBRASKA; ESTABLISHING THE
OUTER BOUNDARIES OF SAID DISTRICT; DESIGNATING THE SIZE,
LOCATION AND TERMINAL POINTS OF THE WATER LINES FOR SAID
DISTRICT; AND REFERRING TO PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND
ESTIMATE OF THE ENGINEER IN CONNECTION THEREWITH ON FILE WITH
THE CITY CLERK.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BLAIR,
NEBRASKA:
ORDINANCE NO. 2070
Section 1. The Mayor and Council of the City of Blair, Nebraska, hereby find and
determine that it is necessary and advisable to extend the municipal water system beyond
the existing system by the construction of water mains pursuant to the authority granted
by Section 19 -2402, R.R.S. Neb. 1997; that said water main extensions shall commence
at the related water mains; that none of the properties located within the Water Extension
District hereby created are presently served by the City's existing system of water
service; and that all property within said District is either within the corporate limits of
the City of Blair or within two miles beyond such corporate limits.
Section 2. There is hereby created Water Extension District No. 46, said water
extension district the outer boundaries of which shall include the following described real
estate, together with the streets and roads upon which said properties directly abut, to -wit:
Tax Lots 46 and 47 located in Section 27, Township 18 North, Range 11
East of the 6 P.M., Washington County, and Lots 1 through 31 in the
Southern Ridge Plat, Washington County.
Section 3. The size, location and terminal points of the proposed improvements
for Water Extension District No. 46 are described as follows:
Commencing on the East side of Highway 30 at County Road 26 and running
Westerly under Highway 30, thence splitting with one leg running North along
County Road 31 to the Northeast corner of the Southern Ridge Plat and the
second leg running West along County Road 26 to the Southwest corner of the
Southern Ridge Plat; and from the intersection of County Road 31 and Ravae
Lane Westerly and around the arc of Ravae Lane to the intersection of Ravae
Lane and County Road No. 26; and from the intersection of Sunset Circle and
Ravae Lane Westerly to the end of Sunset Circle;
The proposed improvements to be constructed consist of 6 -inch and 8 -inch PVC
water main with valves and fire hydrants and other related appurtenances as
indicated on the drawings.
Section 4. A more detailed description of the proposed improvements is shown
on the plans and specifications on file at the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, City of
Blair, 218 So. 16th Street, Blair, Nebraska 68008. Said plans and specifications are
hereby incorporated by reference as if set forth herein. Reference should be made to said
plans and specifications for the specific sizing of pipes and mains as shown above.
Section 7. The engineers' estimates of total construction cost for the proposed
water main improvements as heretofore filed with the City Clerk for Water Extension
District No. 46 is $104,013.00.
Section 8. This ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication as provided by law.
