COUNCIL MEMBER ABBOTT INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING ORDINANCE:
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 303.01, 501.04 AND 701.04 OF THE ZONING
REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF BLAIR, NEBRASKA, TO DEFINE AND ALLOW
COVERED BRIDGES AS EXCEPTED USES IN AGG - GENERAL AGRICULTURAL
DISTRICT AND RRE - RURAL RESIDENTIAL ESTATE DISTRICTS; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND
PROVIDING WHEN THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BLAIR, NEBRASKA:
SECTION 1. Section 303.01 of the Zoning Regulations for the City of Blair, Nebraska
is hereby amended to add the following provision, to wit:
(44) COVERED BRIDGE, PRIVATE shall mean a roofed bridge located on private property,
open on both ends for vehicular access, where the roof is structurally integrated with the
structure of the bridge.
(45) COVERED BRIDGE, PUBLIC shall mean a roofed bridge located on a public road, open
on both ends for vehicular access, where the roof is structurally integrated with the structure of
the bridge.
SECTION 2. Section 501.04 of the Zoning Regulations for the City of Blair, Nebraska is
hereby amended to add the following provision, to wit:
(22) Private or Public Covered Bridges. Since covered bridges may cross or be located along
property lines, the Planning Commission and City Council may waive the Minimum Yard
Requirements for Primary Buildings and Accessory Buildings as well as the Creeks/Water
Course Setback Requirements as part of their consideration of the conditional use permit.
SECTION 3. Section 701.04 of the Zoning Regulations for the City of Blair, Nebraska is
hereby amended to add the following provision, to wit:

repealed.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in force and take effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication as provided by law.
