RE: Building permit for deck replacement at 2600 Sunrise Drive
I have been requested to replace the existing deck at 2600 Sunrise Drive with a smaller version. I
have included this letter to help clarify details to assist you in granting a building permit.
The current deck is in poor condition and the homeowner has requested that I remove it and
install a smaller version. The current deck has a roof and screen enclosure, but the new deck
would be uncovered. The replacement deck will have stairs to the ground in the same location
as the old deck. The floor of the deck is approximately 60" above grade.
I have not shown a lot of detail in the drawings that I have included, but the lumber spans,
framing connections, and handrail details will meet our local codes. Since all framing is
exposed, this will be easily verified upon the inspector's visit.
If you have any questions about the details of this project, please let me know.
Thank you.
