Regarding the smoke alarms for 1623 Washington Street, attached is a listing of the currently licensed
electricians in Blair, with the local electricians highlighted. An electrician is required because the smoke alarms
not only must be interconnected, they must also be hardwired to the building's electrical system. Each unit then
also has its own individual battery backup in case the power is out during a fire.
Please remind the electrician that you select that they must pull a permit before starting work.
We will also need a floor layout showing each room, the use of each room (kitchen, bedroom, bathroom) and
the location of each smoke alarm. Attached is also a PDF of the IRC code requirements for smoke alarms.
