COUNCIL MEMBER CHRISTIANSEN INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION:
WHEREAS, THE City of Blair, Nebraska desires to submit a Hazard Mitigation
Application to the Economic Development Administration for hazard mitigation funding;
WHEREAS, THE City of Blair, Nebraska has experienced a natural disaster in 2011 that
affected the city's water and waste water treatment plants;
WHEREAS, THE City of Blair, Nebraska desires to protect critical infrastructure to keep
local businesses functioning even in the event of a flooding event;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BLAIR, NEBRASKA, that the City of Blair is committed to pledge the 20%
matching funds estimated to be $1,260,002 for the Economic Development Administration's
application requesting 80% federal assistance in the amount of $5,040,008 for the city's attached
mitigation application and plan.
COUNCIL MEMBER CHRISTIANSEN MOVED THAT THE RESOLUTION BE ADOPTED
AS READ, WHICH SAID MOTION WAS SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN.
UPON ROLL CALL, COUNCIL MEMBERS STEWART, RYAN, KEPHART, JENSEN,
WOLFF, CHRISTIANSEN AND HALL VOTING "AYE ", AND COUNCIL MEMBERS
NONE VOTING "NAY ", THE MAYOR DECLARED THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 11TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 2012.
