We are sending the "Hydraulic Comments" so that you can start working on the resolution. We are conducting other reviews and will send comments as we receive them. I Hydraulic Comments: our Hydraulics Engineer has significant experience with the storm sewer in this location. The storm sewer system west of the manhole at the middle Of 13th street is at capacity. To the east of the 13th street manhole the system increases to a 48" storm sewer that is significantly under utilized now that the 13th street (US Hwy 75) system south of US Hwy 30 has been rerouted. our Hydraulics Engineer recommends that the storm sewer be redesigned to connect into our system east of 13th street The designer should be made aware that the sewer at the manhole and for 60 -70 feet to the east is a concrete box culvert (old rail road structure) that then flows in to a 48" pipe. our Hydraulics Engineer recommends that the applicant submit drainage data for the storm sewer system. Approval is dependent on these calculations. The system along Us Hwy 30 was designed to collect and convey only highway runoff. Even though the 48" sewer system is under utilized, it leads to the 12th street storm sewer system that.drains US Hwy 75 (13th street south of Us Hwy 30) and which is at capacity. if the applicant has knowledge that the adjacent developments (Walgreens and strip Mall) wish to discharge storm water to the highway, then our Hydraulics Engineer would like to review these plans, and their drainage calculations, in conjunction with the 13th street plans. if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call.
