07-12-2006 '--' Blair Park Board Meeting July 12, 2006 RollCall The Blair Park Board met at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, in the City Hall Conference Room. Members present: Kathy Kuster, vice president; Ann George, secretary; Roger Petersen, Jim Peterson, Ardec Pounds. Blair Parks Department: Pat Long. Not present: Neil Jensen. Reading and Approval of June 14, 2006, Minutes Ardee Pounds's motion to approve the minutes of the June 14 meeting was seconded by Jim Peterson and carried. Approval of Bills Roger Petersen made a motion, seconded by Ardee Pounds, that a bill for $8,720.91 from Heritage Nurseries for tree planting and mulching in Black Elk-Ncihardt .)ark be approved. The motion was carried. (The trees replace those removed when the gas pipeline in the park was relocated; replacement and replanting costs have been covered by a check from Northern Natural Gas.) Pat Long told members that he'd learned from Tim Weander of the State Highway Department that directional signs on state highways can't include park names. A code for park signs is being checked. There will be two signs for each park but no sign for the cemetery. v New Business Discussion orparA de.'fcriptions for web paI!e update. Pat Long and Kathy Kuster turned in their assigned descriptions; Kathy will also write a description for the mini-park. Ann George will compile and edit all of the descriptions and forward them to Brenda. Discw'sion orpossible future shelters. Pat Long said that he plans to discuss the proposed tipi shelter with members of the Black Elk~Neihardt Commission to see ifthcy're interested in participating. Pat wants to find out whether the Chamber of Commerce will help pay for the printing through the hotel~motel tax or keno funds. Park maintenance. Members expressed conccrn over damage to trees causcd by workers cmployed by the company that the city has contracted with for park mowing. The Board will meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9 at Ridgevicw Park. Roger Petersen's motion to adjourn the meeting was seconded by Jim Peterson and carried.
