2012-13RESOLUTION NO. 2012 - 13
COUNCILMEMBER KEPHART INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BLAIR, NEBRASKA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Mayor and City Council hereby find and determine: That mowing
made to the following properties: 1) Lot 3 and part of vacated street, Block 73, Blair City (1331
Colfax St); 2) Lot 2, Johnson Addition, Blair City (634 N. 11 St); 3) Lot 1, Block 3, Larsen
Heights Third Addition, Blair City (1121 N. 26 Ave); and 4) TL 402, Section 11, Township 18,
Range 11 (2217 Grant St) all in Blair City, Washington County, Nebraska and that unpaid water
and sewer bill for the following property: Lot 10, Block 3, Blair City (1030 State St), Blair City,
Washington County, have been completed as certified by the City Clerk. That the City billed to
owner of the property for charges and charges have not been paid, and pursuant to Municipal
Code Section 4 -502 the charges for mowing and unpaid water and sewer bill shall be levied as a
special assessment, in the same manner as other assessments. The attached schedule is a true
copy of the charges to be assessed.
SECTION 2. There shall be and there are hereby levied against the following
properties: 1) Lot 3 and part of vacated street, Block 73, Blair City (1331 Colfax St); 2) Lot 2,
Johnson Addition, Blair City (634 N. 1 l St); 3) Lot 1, Block 3, Larsen Heights Third Addition,
Blair City (1121 N. 26 Ave); 4) TL 402, Section 11, Township 18, Range 11 (2217 Grant St)
all in Blair City, Washington County, Nebraska and that unpaid water and sewer bill for the
following property: Lot 10, Block 3, Blair City (1030 State St), Blair City, Washington County
set out in the attached amounts set out opposite said lots and parcels of ground as per the
attached schedule, which schedule will be corrected to reflect any changes heretofore made by
the Board of Equalization. Said assessments shall become due 50 days after the date of passage
of this Resolution levying special assessments, any may be paid within said time without interest,
but if not paid by said date shall draw interest from and after the date of delinquency at the rate
as provided by law from and after the date of passage of this Resolution.
SECTION 3. All said assessments shall be a lien on the property on which levied from
the date hereof and shall be certified by the City clerk to the Treasurer of the City for collection.
A copy of said Resolution shall be filed in the office of the County Register of Deeds.
SECTION 4. The Schedules of proposed assessments with any changes therein as
heretofore directed by the Board shall be attached to and made part of the Minutes of this
meeting and are hereby made a part of the Resolution as if fully stated herein.
COUNCIL MEMBER KEPHART MOVED THAT THE RESOLUTION BE ADOPTED AS
READ, WHICH SAID MOTION WAS SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER JENSEN.
UPON ROLL CALL, COUNCIL MEMBERS STEWART, KEPHART, RYAN,
CHRISTIANSEN, JENSEN AND HALL VOTING "AYE" AND COUNCIL MEMBERS
NONE VOTING "NAY ", THE MAYOR DECLARED THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 12TH DAY OF JUNE, 2012.
