Dear Mr. & Mrs. Jensen
On December 1, 2010, Chip Gossett Construction applied for a building permit for your
residence located at 1104 Joann Drive to remodel your basement. When the contractor
was notified of the building permit fee, both he and you called city hall to voice your
concern regarding the current fee structure.
On approximately January 28, 2011, Chip Gossett Construction called city hall and stated he
had been removed as contractor for the project and that you, as homeowner, were
assuming all responsibility for the building permit. As of today, the permit has not been
paid for, and therefore has not been issued.
Please contact Brandy Petersen, building department clerk, or Howard Wolfe, building

inspector, at 402.426.4191 by March 7, 2011 to inform us whether you plan to proceed
with this project or not. If we do not hear from you by March 7, 2011, we will void the
current permit application.
It is a violation of the City of Blair Municipal Code, Section 9 -104, to commence or proceed
with a construction or remodeling project that requires a building permit without first
applying for and being issued a building permit to do so. Failure to do so is a Class III
misdemeanor, as defined by the statutes of the State of Nebraska, Section 28 -106.
