' D j pe /LO'Alc— RE: Cargill lactic acid facility project Zephyr construction permit application `C iv (21 Dear Howard, We are now in the design phase of a project for our lactic acid facility and need to apply for city building permits. This cover letter will give you a basic description of the work being done. Also enclosed you will a site layout showing the proposed location and size of the structures that will be added, as well as structural design drawings. Item #1 being added is a 50' wide x 100' long cooling tower structure to the east of the facility, near building 300. This structure will consist of an 8' deep concrete basin with an adjoining pad for installation of recirculation pumps, with an engineered and treated wood - framed cooling tower with fiberglass siding. There will also be a connecting steel- framed piperack from the tower to the building, along the south wall of the building. Both of these structures will be supported on H -piles driven to bedrock and connecting grade beam footings and pile caps. Our insurance carrier requires to have a deluge fire protection system in the cooling tower structure, not for occupancy reasons, but due to materials of construction and financial loss (replacement cost and lost production) incurred by a potential fire. Please review these documents and get back to us with any comments you may have. Regards, Brad Hawkins Cargill Inc. II•(c) 630
