Dear Ms. Wiese:
This letter is to advise you that our Territory Manager, Mike Hayden has investigated the
color problem on your roof
Based on Mr. Hayden's limited visual inspection of your roof, the product meets our
manufacturing specifications. The color variation that you are experiencing is a result of
mixing product produced by two different plants (Michigan City and Minneapolis).
These products shipped with DO NOT MIX instructions and bear different lot numbers.
The products are not compatible and should not be used on the same roof.
As we have no evidence to support a claim for defective manufacture, we can offer no
relief under the GAF -Elk Smart Choice® Shingle Limited Warranty. Thank you for your
patience during this investigation.
