2011-20RESOLUTION NO. 2011 - 20 COUNCIL MEMBER STEWART INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION: WHEREAS, Blair, Nebraska has suffered from Missouri River flooding that started on May 25, 2011 and is continuing, and WHEREAS, the flooding has caused damage to public and private property and has the potential to cause severe damage to public and private property, disruption of utility service and endangering the health and safety of the citizens of Blair within the disaster area, and WHEREAS, the Mayor has declared a state of emergency under Nebraska State Statute R.R.S. 81- 829.50 on behalf of Blair, Nebraska and has authorized the expenditure of emergency funds from all available sources. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BLAIR, NEBRASKA, that sales tax revenue shall be transferred to the water fund to help pay expenses for the emergency flood preparation and flood related costs throughout this state of emergency, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THE CITY TREASURER OF BLAIR, NEBRASKA is hereby authorized and directed to transfer sales tax funds to the water fund to pay expenses associated with the emergency flood operations. COUNCIL MEMBER STEWART MOVED THAT THE RESOLUTION BE ADOPTED AS READ, WHICH SAID MOTION WAS SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER JENSEN. UPON ROLL CALL, COUNCIL MEMBERS SHEPARD, STEWART, KEPHART, RYAN, WOLFF, HALL AND JENSEN VOTING "AYE", AND COUNCIL MEMBERS NONE VOTE\TG "IlTAY ", THE MAYOR DECLARED THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 14TH DAY OF JUNE, 2011.
