COUNCIL MEMBER WOLFF INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION:
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council are committed to the development of the Blair
Bypass project to relieve the through highway traffic on the four state and federal highways that
converge at the downtown area of Blair, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council wish to secure federal funding for the
development of the Blair Bypass route first phase, and
WHEREAS, the Blair Bypass route first phase from highway 30 to Highway 75 is an
essential route to relieve the through highway traffic from the downtown area and other streets
within the city of Blair, Nebraska, and provide a safer route for through truck traffic,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOULVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BLAIR, NEBRASKA request to the Nebraska Department of Roads and Federal
Highway Administration that the Blair Bypass first phase from Highway 30 to Highway 75 be
added and included to the City of Blair, Nebraska Federal Routes.
COUNCIL MEMBER KEPHART MOVED THAT THE RESOLUTION BE ADOPTED AS
READ, WHICH SAID MOTION WAS SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER JENSEN.
UPON ROLL CALL, COUNCIL MEMBERS VOTING "AYE" SHEPARD, STEWART,
KEPHART, RYAN, CHRISTIANSEN, HALL, WOLFF AND JENSEN. COUNCIL
MEMBERS NONE VOTING "NAY ", THE MAYOR DECLARED THE FOREGOING
RESOLUTION PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 12 DAY OF APRIL, 2011.
