Due in. part to fiscal. restraint by all taxing entities and new valuation
from growth, the property tax for a resident of the City of Blair will
drop 16.4459 cents per hundred dollars of actual valuation. - To the
owners a $100,000 home, the tax bill will drop from $2,220.63 to
$2,056.17 for total savings of $164.46.

League of Nebraska Municipalities at their annual

Waverly. Mayor Mines has served on the League's
Legislative Committee since 1993 and was elected to the
Executive Board in 1996.
Established in 1909, the League is headquartered in Lincoln and
represents the legislative interests and administrative issues of 341
member cities, and their elected and appointed officials.
Other members of the Executive Board are Omaha. Mayor Hal Daub.

Nebraska City Managers Association (NCMA) at their annual meeting
on Oct. 8, 1998. NCMA represents over 80 city administrators and city

government and local democracy and a dedication to the promotion
of efficient management of public services

(3rd Avenue and
Colfax Street) Monday through Friday from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and
noon to 5:00 P.M: Saturdays and Sundays. The clean-up site is only
available to Blair residents, and proof of residency -is required.
Yard waste (leaves and grass) must be separated from other waste
materials and removed from bags before depositing in a dumpster.
Refrigerators, air conditioners, batteries, tires, liquid paint and
hazardous waste will not be. accepted. Other major appliances like
stoves, washers and dryers will be accepted.
REMINDER: THERE S NO OPEN BURNING ON
OCT. 24 25, 31, & NOV, 1.
Open burning for•tree and - shrub trimmings,. leaves, grass, weeds and
garden vegetation has been designated for Nov. 7 -15. Burning
hours begin at S:00 A.M. and all fires must be extinguished by 5:00
P.M. if you choose to burn,. please. exercise good judgement, and
remember that you are responsible for monitoring your fires. The
disposal site for yard waste will be available during this period as an
alternative to burning.
