Dear Mr. & Mrs. Clark,
In checking with the Washington County Registrar of Deeds, you are listed as the owner of the
above property. We attempted to make contact with a property owner regarding the clearing of
the sidewalk for this property by posting a sign at the property and attempting to hand deliver a
letter. However, due to the lack of any response, the City of Blair hired an individual to clear the
sidewalks on January 4, 2011.
Enclosed please find an invoice for the clearing of this sidewalk. The City of Blair will levy
special assessments against this property in the amount of $85.00 to recoup the cost of snow
removal and administration. If you would prefer to not have special assessments levied against
this property, full payment of the attached invoice is required no later than Monday, February
7, 2011. This matter will be placed on the February 8, 2011 City Council agenda for action.

Kevin - If you have any questions please give me a call. In this case they had an extra 3 days and as you can see a sign
was posted. Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on what a person's opinion is on ice and snow removal, there is a
guy in your area that does a lot of walking and turns in a lot of properties. He gets upset because we don't go door to
door 5 hours after each snow or ice storm and start issuing tickets or scooping. He feels we should send an employee up
and down every street and not wait for someone to complain. To date, the Council has preferred waiting for complaints
unless it is on a prime route for schools. Luckily people on the main school routes do a good job of getting out and
getting their walks scooped.
As for 1255 Adams, I know they don't think they should have to pay, but if they pay the $35.00 fee that it cost the City to
get it cleaned, I will write off the $50.00 administrative fee. If it is not paid and we have to go the assessment route, we
will ask the Council to consider the full amount. If it goes the assessment route, it gives them their right to appeal.
