Chris: Here's what we need for the HV substation building:
1. The building Code Data on the cover sheet doe's not appear accurate. Construction is shown as non - combustible. Is
this type II -B? Height is shown on the cover as 71' but the sectional drawings show 55' to the roof line. If construction is
type II -B, the allowable number of stories for an F -1 as shown is 2, since there are no fire sprinklers. (Table 503). The
plans show three stories.
2. Show Fire department access openings for the second and third floors or fire sprinklers throughout the building.
Section 903.2.10.
3. Show a standpipe system as per Section 905.
4. Show a Ihr. Minimum rated fire barrier for the exterior stair as per Section 1023.6. Also show 1hr. minimum fire
rated doors to stairs. Table 715.4
5. Show stair guards at a minimum height of 42 ". Show handrails on both sides of the stairs. Show maximum riser
opening of 4 ". Show maximum riser height of 7 -3/4" and minimum run of 11 ".
6. HVAC General Design Notes sheet is missing. Please provide.
7.. Show an approved method for the fire barrier assembly for the stair enclosure and exterior stair wall. Shaw
approved penetration firestop methods. ( Methods listed on the plans do not show UL listing # or other approved
method of construction.)
8. Provide energy compliance certificate as per State of Nebraska requirements. See vr vu, P e ne
for forms. We need these certificates for EVERY building on the site. At this time, we don't have anything for the rest of
the buildings.
9. Show emergency lighting for exterior stairs. (backup power system). Section 1006.
10. Show duct smoke detectors for mechanical HVAC systems that produce more than 2000 CFM's. Section 606 -IMC.
11. Show overflow drains or scuppers for roof.
12. Provide a minimum 42" guard for appliances on the roof that Have serviceable parts closer than 10' to the edge of
the roof. One unit on the roof may apply. Section 304.10.(IMC)
