RE: Building Department Issues
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Behnk,
It has been brought to my attention that a fence was replaced on your property
without first obtaining a building permit. Further, it is my understanding that this fence is
now attached to your neighbor's fence which is not on the property line. In order to
correct this problem you must either 1) move the fence, or 2) get permission from your
neighbor to cross the property line with your fence and then apply for a permit from the
City so the fence can be inspected prior to reinstallation.
In addition, it appears you have constructed a concrete pad in the r= yard of your
property next to the garage. It may be that at the time this concrete pad was installed the
City of Blair did not require a permit for its construction. However, the City of Blair has
continually enforced the 3 foot setback from the property line regarding cement
structures. Therefore, you will need to cut / remove the cement pad to a location that is 3
feet back from the property line.
Please contact either Brenda Wheeler or Phil Green at (402) 426 4191 at the City
of Blair Office within 10 days of this letter regarding your plans to rectify these matters.
If the problem is not corrected, I will be forced to proceed with legal action against these
violations. Please govern yourself accordingly, Thank you in advance for your
