Blair Park Board Minutes
July 6, 1989
Meeting was called to order by President Marilyn Gentry. Members present were
Ralph Steyer, Roger Hohensee, George Wilson, Marilyn Gentry and Gene Solomon.
Also present was Warren Whitaker. Absent was Judy Sick.
Minutes of the June 1, meeting were read and approved.
Old Business:
The child's swing seat requested earlier was not ordered as Ralph Steyer
found one in storage that had not been put in place.
The following items were discussed with Warren Whitaker.
New Business:
Possible purchase of a used tree spade. Ownership vs. renting and
consideration of convenience and cost were discussed. It seems that
the cost is some what out of the realm of the budget.
A reguest for an increase in the playground equipment budget was dis-
cussed. It was pointed out that the cost of equipment has increased
considerably but the budget had remained the same for years. It was
suggested that large items such as the slide at Lion's Park be re-
quested thru capital outlays expenditures. This should be done early
in the calendar year so it can be brought to the attention of the
City Administrator befor 4.udget p&.anning for the fiscal year.
Wilson moved and Hohensee seconded the motion that a See -Saw, model 602 -J,
be ordered from Ely Churchich at a cost of $709.04. Motion carried. Marilyn Gentry
will talk to the city office about ordering it right away.
A letter from Betty Morse McMillan was read by Marilyn Gentry. It requested

of the plants and plaque. Although no formal motion was made, it was suggested
that we not accept the offer and that Gene Solomon, with the able assistance of
hie wife, reply to the letter.
Gene Solomon moved and Roger Hohensee seconded the motion that we ad4ourn.
