BLAIR PARK ADVISORY BOARD
May 3, 1990
The Advisory Board met at the Park Office at 7:30 p.m.
with George Wilson presiding. Others present were Roger
Hohensee, Marilyn Gentry, and Gene Solomon.
The minutes of the April 5th meeting were read and
approved.
Since Debbie Flynn and her husband do not own real
property in the city of Blair, she is not eligible for Board
membership. Concensus is to recommend Liz (Mrs. John)
Nielsen for appointment to replace Judy Sick.
The five-year-plan was reviewed. The importance of
naming a professional City Forester was discussed. Some
inquiries indicate that if such a job were created we might
have a number of qualified applicants.
Concern was expressed that purchase of expensive
maintenance equipment is made without advisory board
approval. There was general disapproval of the use of sprays
on windy days. Guidelines of some kind need to be developed
and enforced. ???
The purchase of playground equipment for 1989-1990
should be done if it is to be in use this season. The Board
considered several possibilities. There was a motion by Gene
Solomon, seconded by Roger Hohensee, to recommend the
purchase of the following items: cost est.
Two eight-foot picnic tables $ 400
Glider-swing for Lions Park 700
"London Bridge" for Steyer Park 626
Two Way Animal Hop for B.E.N. Park 796
Two Park Benches _120
$ 2,642
Meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
Marilyn Gentry
Secretary, pro-tem.
