05-02-1991BLAIR PARK ADVISORY BOARD May 2, 1991 The Advisory Board met at the Black Elk/Neihardt Park shelter at 7:30 p.m. with President George Wilson presiding. Others present were Bill Trisdale, Marilyn Gentry, and Gene Solomon. Minutes of the April 4th meeting were approved as read. Wilson reported that 2 concrete benches were purchased from ARP. They are in place at the BE/N Park. Two benches previously located near the tennis courts have been moved to this park also. RV Park status report: NRD has authorized $10,000 for the park. Work will begin if Game & Parks okays $20,000. There was discussion of places where additional dog leash signs should be placed. Question raised who should write an article for the paper. Public is probably unaware of the ordinance or the reasons for it The pipe for the outside water at the Park Office has been repaired. Trisdale has consulted two individuals who will look at the ceramic pedestals at BE/N Park and recommend repairs. The Rotary Club has indicated an intention to spread a new layer of wood chips on the exercise trail. The Tether ball is not in place. Bob Leonard is probably the one to check on this. There will be some prairie hay to sell again this year Wilson is to make a contact with regard to this. Previous corporate members of the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum have chosen to give to the Arbor Park Arboretum this year instead. They agree that next year they will support the NSA again. Motion by Trisdale for president Wilson to check the cost of a Glider Swing and order one for the north side of Vet's Field if the equipment budget will allow it. Motion was seconded, carried.
