09-03-1992• BLAIR PARK BOARD MINUTES September 3, 1992 The September meeting of the Blair Park was called to order at 7:35 p.m. by President Leonard. Board members present included: Marilyn Gentry, George Wilson, Bob Leonard and Bill Trisdale. Also in attendance was Curator Ralph Steyer. A brief curators report was given. The new I. D. tags were installed on the designated trees by Wilson and Steyer. The bank balance for the special arboretum account is reported at $909.32. The subject of Friends of the Arboretum was touched on briefly. Work needs to be done to organize this. Art Ode will be glad to assist in any way he can to get this project off the ground. Bill Trisdale will contact the Blair newspaper toward enlisting their help in publicizing this project. There were no bills presented at this meeting. The R.V. Park progress is at a standstill. The activity by the railroad construction has things in the area tied up. The city will probably have to issue an ultimatum to get them to move off of the site. Walking trails need re- surfacing. A motion by Gentry to allow the Rotary club to put walnut mulch on again was seconded by Wilson and passed by the Board. Plant material is still moving out of the nursery. Our City Administrator, Rod Storm, will be at our October Board meeting to discuss any problems that might need his attention. We are receiving visitors at the main park shelter on Friday, September 25 at 6:00 p.m. for a tour of same. They are from Concord, NE and some 20 people will be in this group. The lunch scheduled for August at the Blair boat ramp was cancelled. Plans for the ramp are still a little fuzzy at this time. The tetherball will be retired. Wilson motioned and Trisdale seconded to have Dale Stricklett remove it. Motion passed by all present. A discussion about removing the large slide from the main park to a safer location and replacing it with a new spiral slide took place. The subject will be carried over to the October meeting. There being no further business, a motion to adjourn was made by Wilson and seconded by Gentry. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m. Secretary Bill Trisdale
