08-06-1992• • BLAIR PARK BOARD MINUTES August 6, 1992 The meeting was called to order at 7:40 p.m. by Bob Leonard, President; with board members Jim Peterson, George Wilson, Bob Leonard and Bill Trisdale. Ralph Steyer, Curator, was also in attendance. It was moved that the minutes of the previous meeting be accepted as printed by all present. Treasurer's report accepted and filed. Under old business, the R. V. Park progress was touched on briefly. Mostly still in limbo. The automatic overflow valve has been replaced at the reservoir. This should solve the wash -out problem on the slope below. The tree trimming around the city is slowly getting started. There has been some pruning done, but it is a slow process. Some discussion about extra help for the park crew, but no action at this time. The Rotary Club has increased their contribution from $250 to $750 for trail maintenance. Steyer touched briefly on a discussion he had with Lloyd Scheve on the need to better stabilize the viewing trails in Black Elk. Just what that would entail is vague at this time. The maps from Warren Whitaker were returned to him by Wilson. They were scaled at 200 to 1, and are too fuzzy to serve our needs. He is having difficulty obtaining any 100 to 1 maps. At this time we don't know why. Signs have arrived for 35 varieties of trees. They need to be prepared for mounting. Once again, the subject of the park manager not attending our meetings has been discussed. Communication with the board is not very good. Some of the things that need doing are not being done. An invitation for Rod Storm to attend one of our board meetings is planned, either in September or October to resolve problems we are having as a Park Board. More on this at a later date. A luncheon is proposed with the Board and Rod Storm at 4 p.m. Thursday, August 13th at the boat ramp on the river to discuss the future care of same. The ADA people are coming sometime soon to inspect our park systems. Steyer reports he has much material in the nursery that needs attention soon. There being no further business, Peterson moved for adjournment and Wilson seconded. Meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m. Secretary Bill Trisdale
