07-02-1992BLAIR PARK BOARD MINUTES July 02, 1992 The meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m. Roll call found Bob Leonard, George Wilson, Jim Peterson and Bill Trisdale present. Ralph Steyer was also present. The minutes were accepted as written with an addition to the limit of stay in the R. V. park. Anyone wishing to stay over the limit must have written permission from Blair's City Administrator or City Clerk. The following items were brought forward under old business: Any vendor selling his wares to the City Park System must show they are approved by the A.D.A. and show proof of being bonded. Conversation on the big slide came up again. We were informed that it needed to be brought up to code, whatever that is. Two options were discussed. It could be removed from the park or placed closer to the ground. A motion was made to have one or the other implemented, seconded by Peterson. Carried. Tree planting publicity was to he discussed with the City Administrator for his approval. Bob Leonard is to see this is done. Graphics Project - Mr. Limbach is willing to pursue the mapping if he is furnished with the proper maps and data. Rule #5 in the R. V. park was amended as per the addition to the minutes above. • The following new business was also discussed. Ray Nohrenberg has asked for permission to supply a tree to be planted at Vets Field. It will most likely be a Sugar Maple. The Board approved the same verbally. It was also decided by this Board that park employees take more responsibility in pointing out problems during their daily routine concerning the condition of trees, shrubs, etc. and /or any playground equipment that needs attention. The budget for 1993 to 1997 was discussed in general terms. Conversation on the status of the boat ramp - the Board does not feel a responsibility for it at this time. If and when the City Council decides differently, we will take another look. Bigger and better more modern reel -type mowers are in the future thinking for the park system. It was moved and seconded by Peterson and Wilson that our Park Superintendent needs to get certified for Chemical Application. Rod Storm will be contacted about this. Hiking trails were touched on. The Rotary Club has $250.00 in their budget for this. The cost of black top was put at $10,000.00. It was decided this is not feasible at this time. Wood chips are still the most reasonable in cost and upkeep. Motion to adjourn was made by Wilson and seconded by Peterson. Motion carried.
