07-08-1998• Blair Park Board Meeting • July 8, 1998 The July meeting of the Blair Park Board was called to order by President Kathy Kuster at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 1998. The meeting was held at the City Hall Council Chambers. Those present included Kathy Kuster, Jim Peterson, Bobbie Cade and Neil Jensen. Absent: Donna Mahlendorf & Mary Sue Pook. Pat Long, superintendent of the Blair Parks was present as were Kus Kuster, Judy Seaver, Jenny Warrick, Tom Jackson, Merna Brown and Bruce Weber. A motion was made by Jim Peterson, seconded by Neil Jensen, to accept the minutes of the June 10th meeting of the Park Board, as amended. Motion was carried. No bills submitted for approval for payment. Neil Jensen, arboretum curator, reminded everyone of the pot luck dinner on July 30, 6:30 p.m. at Black Elk Park. Everyone is invited. Tours of Steyer Park was enjoyed by participants. The tours were held before and after "Jazz in the Park" concert. Pat Long reviewed progress made in the parks. Sidewalk has been installed at Ridge View Park. The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints is planning a work day in the park on August 22. Pat asked for volunteer to lead work groups. More discussion at the August meeting. Pat Long discussed future park plans and donation. Lions Club is planning to make repairs on their shelter at Steyer Park. The Masonic Lodge has had discussions with Pat in regard to making a donation to be used at Ridge View Park. A motion was made by Jim Peterson, seconded by Neil Jensen, that all future donations with an initial donation of $4,500 or more be recognized with a plaque. Motion approved. With no further business, President Kathy Kuster adjourned the meeting at 8:00 p.m.. Motion by Bobbie Cade, seconded by Jim Peterson. Next meeting, August 12, Respectfully, Neil Jensen Secretary
