10-13-1999Blair Park Board Meeting • October 13 1999 The October meeting of the Blair Park Board was called to order by President Kathy Kuster at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday October 13 1999. The meeting was held at the City Hall. Those present included Kathy Kuster, Donna Mahlendorf, Ann George, Neil Jensen, Jim Peterson and Bobbie Cade. Also present was Pat Long, Superintendent of the Blair Parks. A motion was made by Ann George, second by Donna Malendorf to approve the minutes with the following correction of September 8, 1999 as the meeting date as opposed to September 12,1999. Motion carried. A motion was made by Ann George, second by Donna Mahlendorf to pay bills to S.E. Smith for posts in the amount of $277.35 and to Summit Supply for a slide and two (2) bounce toys in the amount of $4,015.63. Motion carried. Pat Long, Park Superintendent, discussed some of the ruling for the distribution of money for the Blair Area Foundation. The money will be available in the year 2000. Discussion was held regarding the Black Elk Cross. Repair needs to be done on the four (4) winds tile. Mrs. Bagby will be billed for the tile repair and the Park 410 Board will be responsible for the lift rental. Pat Long also discussed the addition of a date posted on the sign at Steyer Park in which he will be responsible for adding if it is approved. A motion was made by Jim Peterson, second by Donna Mahlendorf to use 1931 as the official start date of the park on the sign. Motion carried. Discussion was held regarding the plantings in the new planters. The care of the planters should be turned over to the Park Board by November 1, 1999. Discussion was held regarding the new budget and the park area by the swimming pool. Bids will be approximately $60,000 for the new bathroom, $40,000 for the replacement of the building, $6,000 for playground equipment, and $2,500 for trees and shrubs.
