05-12-1999• • • Br perk Board Meet:hag May 12, 1999 The May meeting of the Blair Park Board was called to order by President Kathy Kuster at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 1999. The meeting was held at the City Hall. Those present included Kathy Kuster, Jim Peterson, Ann George, and Neil Jensen. Absent: Donna Mahlendorf and Bobbie Cade. Pat Long, the superintendent of the Blair Parks, was present as were Kus Kuster, Jenny Warrick, Dawn Nielsen and Brace Weber. A motion was made by Ann George, seconded by Neil Jensen, to accept the oinutes of the April 14, 1999 meeting of the Park Board. Motion was approved. No bilis submitted for approval for payment. Neil Jensen, arboretum curator, reminded everyone that the NSA curators annual meeting will be held in Blair on May 21. A head count was made to determine who would attend. Pat Long indicated that the Dana Women's Club is going to pay for sign at the start of Black Elk trail at Dana. This is the sign that has the map of the trail on it. Pat Long, Neil Jensen and Kathy Kuster attended Tree City presentation on April 16 in Lincoln. This is Blair's 16 year for the award. Discussion was held in regard to projects for the next year. Two projects mentioned was completing the sidewalks in the Rose Garden and sidewalks in Steyer. Arts in the Park was discussed. Jim Peterson and Neil Jensen agreed to do a tour of Steyer at 5:00 p.m. on June 11 before the Jazz on the Green. In addition, they are doing a tour of Black Erk Park on June 22.
