11-13-2002• • Roll Call The Blair Park Board met on November 13 at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. Members present: Neil Jensen, president; Kathy Kuster, vice president; Ann George, secretary; Ardee Pounds. Blair Parks Department: Pat Long. Members not present: Donna Mahlendorf, Jim Peterson. Ardee Pounds' motion that the minutes of the October 9, 2002, Park Board meeting be approved was seconded by Kathy Kuster and carried. Approval of Bills There were no bills needing approval. Blair Park Board Meeting November 13, 2002 Old Business Brochure Progress Ardee Pounds presented copies of the brochure about the Blair Arboretum and city parks on two kinds of paper. Members noted that the photographs looked better on the glossy white and selected it. Neil Jensen will send a copy to the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum for comment, and Pat Long will show it to City Administrator Rod Storm. Kathy Kuster made a motion, seconded by Ardee Pounds, that an initial 100 copies of the brochure be reproduced at $1.20 each and that the bill be forwarded to Friends of the Blair Arboretum for approval for funding. The motion was carried. Andersen/Rasmussen Trees at Stever Park Pat Long reported that a $200 check from Pat and Fred Andersen of North Platte to Friends of the Blair Arboretum for planting evergreens in memory of Elmer Andersen had been used to purchase two Lace Bark Pines from Ed Rasmussen. The trees have been planted in Steyer Park. Board secretary Ann George will write a thank -you note to the Andersens. New Business New Eauinment. Pat Long said that two 1979 Easy -go green scooters used by park employees were being traded in for a John Deere Gator. Vandalism Restitution Pat also said that the city had received a check of $125.96 as restitution from persons who had committed vandalism at the RV Park. Report from Arboretum Curator Curator Neil Jensen said he was considering having a meeting of members of Friends of the Blair Arboretum at his home on Wednesday evening, December 11. Ardee Pounds' motion that the meeting be adjourned was seconded by Kathy Kuster and carried. Because of travel and holiday conflicts, the board will not meet in December and January.
