Blair Park Board Meeting
June 12, 2002
Roll Call
The Blair Park Board met on June 12 at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. Members present: Neil Jensen, president; Kathy
Kuster, vice president; Ann George, secretary; Jim Peterson; Ardee Pounds. Blair Parks Department: Pat
Thompson. Also present: Kus Kuster. Members not present: Donna Mahlendorf.
Kathy Kuster's motion that the minutes of the May 8, 2002, Park Board meeting be approved was seconded
by Jim Peterson. The motion was carried.
Report from Arboretum Curator
Curator Neil Jensen reported that a Boy Scout had expressed interest in assisting in placing additional tree labels in the
city parks as an Eagle Scout project.
Old Business
ects in Black Elk - Neihardt Park. Pat Thompson said that there are plans to remove exercise equipment that
be repaired. Old junipers by the reservoir are also going to be removed.
Parks Brochure. Neil Jensen said that he needs to get in touch with Judy Seaver about scanning the photographs for
the brochure.
Jazz. in the Park. Jim Peterson and Neil Jensen discussed plans for their public tour of unusual trees in Steyer Park on
Friday, June 14, an hour before "Ja77 in the Park."
New Business
Siinage for Parks Completion. This item was held over for the next meeting.
Summer Proiects. Additional posts are needed for tree labels. Those present discussed a summer picnic and decided
to make more definite plans at the next meeting.
Ardee Pounds's motion that the meeting be adjourned was seconded by Kathy Kuster and carried. The next
meeting will be held on July 10.
