09-10-2003• • • Blair Park Board Meeting September 10, 2003 Roll Call The Blair Park Board met on Wednesday, September 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall conference room. Members present: Neil Jensen, president; Kathy Kuster, vice president; Ann George, secretary; Jim Peterson, Ardee Pounds. Blair Parks Department: Pat Long. Members not present: Donna Mahlendorf. Others present: Skateboard Committee members: Scott Bovick (assistant city administrator), Jon Stewart (City Council), Kathy Kuster (Park Board —also listed above), Pat Long (Parks Dept. —also listed above), Rick Miller (father of skateboarder), and skateboarders Tanner Ashland, Bryan Miller, and Kyle Neef The minutes of the August 13, 2003, Park Board meeting were approved, with the motion to approve made by Ardee Pounds, seconded by Kathy Kuster, and carried. Approval of Bills There were no bills needing approval. Old Business Skateboard Committee Meeting Proposal. Park Board members attended the 7 p.m. meeting of the Skateboard Committee that preceded the Park Board meeting to learn about plans and details for the skateboard area in Steyer Park selected at the last meeting. After the Park Board meeting was called to order, the following motion was made by Ardee Pounds, seconded by Jim Peterson, and carried: That we approve the concept design and site plan as presented and recommend the project to the City Council. It was noted that the design and site plan will be presented to the City Council on October 14. (At this point Skateboard Committee members left the meeting.) New Business 2003 Fall Projects. Members discussed the possibility of having a frisbee golf course on the hill in Steyer Park. Eagle Scout Project Neil Jensen reported that his son, Matt, who plans to label trees in Steyer and Black Elk-Neihardt Parks as an Eagle Scout project, will complete half the project next Sunday. The next board meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall conference room. Jim Peterson's motion to adjourn was seconded by Kathy Kuster and carried.
