Blair Park Board Meeting
June 11, 2003
Roll Call
The Blair Park Board met on June 11 at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. Members present: Neil Jensen, president; Kathy
Kuster, vice president; Ann George, secretary; Jim Peterson, Ardee Pounds. Blair Parks Department: Pat
Thompson. Members not present: Donna Mahlendorf
The minutes of the May 14, 2003, Park Board meeting were approved, with the motion to approve made by
Jim Peterson, seconded by Kathy Kuster, and carried.
Approval of Bills
There were no bills needing approval.
Old Business
New Planters at Post Office. Two small planters installed by the local Brownie Troop at the Post Office parking lot
will be watered and maintained by the Parks Department, Pat Thompson reported,
Steyer Park Retaining Wall. He also reported that work will begin on the retaining wall in Steyer Park on June 23.
Sign on East Highway 30. Neil Jensen said that improving the appearance of the area around the highway sign on
East U.S. 30 that identifies local service organizations might become an Eagle Scout project
IL Business
Tour" before Jazz in the Park, June 13. Jim Peterson and Neil Jensen will give a tree tour at 5 p.m. on June
13 before the annual "Jazz in the Park" program, in conjunction with the beginning of Gateway to the West activities.
Jim Peterson's motion to adjourn was seconded by Ardee Pounds and carried.
