2009-04COUNCILMEMBER FANOELE INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION:
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Blair, Nebraska have been
presented with the attached Emergency Plan for Nuclear Power Plant incidents which provides
for a coordinated effort and response to an emergency situation at the Fort Calhoun Nuclear
Power Plant which could result in a partial or a total evacuation of the City of Blair, and
WHEREAS, the Municipality is in agreement with such Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BLAIR, NEBRASKA, THAT the City of Blair hereby approves the proposed
Emergency Response Plan for Nuclear Power Plant Incidents as specified therein.
COUNCIL MEMBER ABBOTT MOVED THE RESOLUTION BE ADOPTED AS READ,
WHICH SAID MOTION WAS SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER WOLFF. UPON
ROLL CALL, COUNCIL MEMBERS STEWART, FANOELE, CHRISTIANSEN, WOLFF,
BIFFAR, ABBOTT AND JENSEN VOTING "AYE" AND COUNCIL MEMBERS NONE
VOTING "NAY ", THE MAYOR DECLARED THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION PASSED
AND APPROVED THIS 10TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, 2009.
