RE: City right of way
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Ehret,
It has been brought to my attention that you have posted a no trespassing sign on your mail box located
in the city right of way. City Code does not allow for signs in the city right of way except under certain
circumstances. Therefore, you will need to immediately remove the sign and install it on your property to
comply with City Code,
In addition, the city right of way in front of your property is eighty (80) feet or approximately forty (40)
feet on either side of the center line of 20 Street. Enclosed please fmd for your reference, a map depicting the
city right of way.
You should also be aware that even though the public has the ability to transgress the right of way, City
Code and Nebraska State Statutes require the abutting property owner to maintain the area between the street
and your actual property line.
