RE: Fence constructed in rear yard
Dear Mr. Rouse,
On July 31, 2008 you were sent a letter stating the fence you constructed in your rear
yard did not meet the zoning regulations for fences due to the height of the fence.
As a reminder, zoning regulations state that residential fences and any component of
that fence can be no higher than 6'. Therefore, you will need to correct this violation by Friday,
October 10, 2008 or this matter will be turned over the City Attorney for further action. We will
reinspect your property after that date for compliance with this request.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. I would be happy to discuss with you
the measures necessary to bring this fence into compliance. Thank you for your cooperation in

Dear Mr. Rouse,
On September 4, 2007 you were issued a building permit to construct a fence containing
a section of 6' wood privacy fence along with a section of 4' chain link fence. On July 24, 2008,
this fence was inspected by Dale Miller, City Building Inspector and failed due to a section of
the wood privacy fence measuring higher than 6'.
Please be advised that residential fences and any component of that fence can be no
higher than 6'. This section of the fence is a violation of the city's zoning regulations. Enclosed
is a copy of Section 1102 of these regulations for your reference regarding fence construction,
which was given to you at the time of permit issuance.
You will need to correct this zoning violation on or before August 31, 2008. We will
reinspect your property after that date for compliance with this request.
