To date, you have not complied with this request. As a reminder, proper address markings are necessary for life safety reasons for the citizens of Blair that reside in these types of structures in the event an E911 call is made to the property. A first responder needs to be able to quickly determine the location of a citizen residing in a multiple unit facility. Therefore, we would appreciate your compliance with this request on or before September 30, 2008. We appreciate your efforts in complying with this life safety issue. However, if you do not comply with this request by this date, we will turn this matter over to the City Attorney for further action. We noted that you did install an address marking for 1661 Lincoln Street and we sincerely thank you for your cooperation To date, there still are no markings for the office space directly east of the 1661 entrance and the dental office space at 138 S. 17 Street. We request that you comply with city code to install the proper address markings on or above the doors here as well. We understand that those locations are occupied by different tenants and you may work with them to erect the proper markings if you desire. However, the placement of these address markings are ultimately the responsibility of the property owner and should the markings not be installed on or before May 16, 2008, we will be forced to turn this matter over to our City Attorney for action against you as the property owner. Calhoun, NE 68023 RE: 1661 Lincoln Street Apartments /Blair Dental Clinic —138 S. 17 Street Dear Mr. and Mrs. Pestal, On February 14, 2008, you were sent a letter regarding the above properties that do not have proper -- address markings visible from the sidewalk or street. We requested you comply with city code within (30) days of receipt of t e letter. To date, you have not complied with this request. As a reminder, Section 8 -306 of the Municipal Code states that any principal building in the City is required to have installed and maintained a proper number in a conspicuous place as near as possible to the main entrance of the building so that it is plainly visible from the street. It further states that an apartment number or unit number must also be displayed on any building structure that contains occupancy for multiple parties and is served by separate or individual exterior doors. Therefore, all the doors located on the above property are required to be properly marked with an address along with any unit numbers for the apartments which need be displayed by the front entrance and clearly visible from the street. Please adhere to this request by April 21, 2008 or this matter will be turned over to our City Attorney for further action. We will recheck the property on or after this date to confirm compliance with city code. Calhoun, NE 68023 RE: 1661 Lincoln Street Apartments Dear Mr. and Mrs. Pestal, We have received a complaint that the apartments located at 1662 Lincoln do not have proper address markings visible from the sidewalk or street. Please find enclosed for your reference, a picture depicting the two doors along Lincoln Street which do not have properly displayed addresses.
