2007-57COUNCIL MEMBER CHRISTIANSEN INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION:
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City of Blair to acquire real estate located within the
corporate city limits of the City of Blair that is considered substandard, blighted, dilapidated, unsafe
and a risk to the health and safety of the Citizens of Blair, and
WHEREAS, the City of Blair will attempt to obtain the real estate in question voluntarily
through negotiation but said efforts may prove to be unsuccessful, and
WHEREAS, the use of eminent domain may be necessary in order to acquire the real estate in
question pursuant to Nebraska Revised Statute § 25 -2501 et seq. and a description of the real estate
involved is attached hereto, marked as Exhibit "A" and fully incorporated herein by reference, and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of Blair that the
City Staff and the City Attorney are authorized to commence acquisition proceedings, as necessary,
to acquire any and all required interest in the real estate in question for the purpose of improving this
substandard, blighted, dilapidated and unsafe real estate located within the City of Blair, Nebraska,
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Blair, Nebraska
are hereby authorized and directed to execute the same on behalf the Municipality.
COUNCIL MEMBER BIFFAR MOVED THAT THE RESOLUTION BE ADOPTED AS READ,
WHICH SAID MOTION WAS SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER WOLFF. UPON ROLL
CALL, COUNCIL MEMBERS STEWART, SCHEVE, SHOTWELL, WOLFF, BIFFAR AND
CHRISTIANSEN VOTING "AYE" AND COUNCIL MEMBERS NONE VOTING "NAY ", THE
MAYOR DECLARED THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION WAS PASSED AND APPROVED
THIS 24TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 2007.
