09-12-2007Roll Call Members of the Blair Park Board met at 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 12, in the City Hall Council Chamber. Members present: Neil Jensen, president; Kathy Kuster, vice president; Ann George, secretary; Roger Petersen, Jim Peterson, Ardee Pounds. Blair Parks Department: Pat Long. Reading and Approval of July 11 Minutes Kathy Kuster's motion to approve the minutes was seconded by Ardee Pounds and carried. Approval of Bills Pat Long reported that the bill for the new shelter in Lions Park would total about $11,679. He said that some necessary concrete work in the park could be billed to the playground budget. Board members will decide on the sidewalk layout to the new shelter at the October meeting. Old Business There was a general discussion of progress at Lions Park on the 1880 depot, which is being given a temporary coat of dark green paint, and on the new shelter, which has been built. Members of the city parks crew have also been working on the new interpretative garden area at Black Elk-Neihardt Park. New Business Friends of the Arboretum. This group will meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, at Steyer Park to continue working on the grounds there. Adjournment Roger Petersen's motion to adjourn was seconded by Jim Peterson and carried. Members drove to Lions Park to look at the depot and new shelter and to discuss the layout for the new sidewalk to the shelter.
