Pursuant to our recent conversation and the inspection of your garage by City
Inspector, Dale Miller, your property is in disrepair and is a health and safety concern to
the citizens of Blair. You indicated on the telephone that you plan to remove the structure
in 2008 and replace it with another garage. Pursuant to that representation the city will
allow you up to and including May 15, 2008 to remove the garage which is in violation of
the property maintence code or to repair it to the extent that it will pass code. If you do not
rectify this situation by the date indicated I will be forced to prosecute this matterto the full
extent of the law.

RE: Inspection Request for Accessory Structure in rear yard at 1152 South Street, Blair, Nebraska
BC Lot 8, Block 71, Washington County, Nebraska
On or about September 7, 2007 you received a hand delivered letter notifying you that you were still in
violation of the Municipal junk ordinance. To date, this violation still has not been corrected. Therefore, the
enclosed ticket is being issued.
This ticket is being issued for the violation of Junk Accumulation which includes boards, tires and trash
all over the ground. It was also observed that raccoons appear to have taken residence in the accessory structure
as they were observed entering the structure.
Apart from this ticket, the city is placing the above mentioned accessory structure under the City's
property maintenance code. The City enforces the 2006 International Property Maintenance Code which
states a structure is considered unsafe if found to be dangerous to the life, health, property or safety of the public
or occupants, if the structure contains unsafe equipment or is so damaged, decayed, dilapidated, structurally
unsafe, or of such faulty construction or unstable foundation, that partial or complete collapse is likely
In order for the Building Inspector to make a formal evaluation of this accessory structure, please
schedule an inspection with Dale Miller by Monday. October 8, 2007. If violations are found, you will receive
a letter outlining the violations that need to be corrected and a deadline for having them corrected. If no
violations are found, the city will issue you a letter to that effect.
