COUNCIL MEMBER FERRARI INTRODUCED THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION:
WHEREAS, three bids were received on June 6, 2023 for the 30 -inch Industrial Main
Project which all included a base bid for using ductile iron pipe for the entire project, an Alternate
1 Bid using HDPE pipe material and an Alternate 2 Bid using a combination of ductile iron and
HDPE pipe materials.
WHEREAS, the lowest bid was submitted by MC Wells Contracting, LLC, Omaha, in the
amount of $3,997,698 using bid Alternate 2.
WHEREAS, the Engineer's opinion of probable construction cost is $4,126,755 and lowest
bid is under that estimate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the lowest bid submitted by MC Wells
Contracting, Omaha in the amount of $3,997,698 using bid Alternate 2 be awarded and the Mayor
and City Clerk of the City of Blair are hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract between
the City of Blair and MC Wells Contracting, LLC, the same on behalf of the municipality.
COUNCIL MEMBER FERRARI MOVED THAT THE RESOLUTION BE ADOPTED AS
READ, WHICH SAID MOTION WAS SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER SCHANK.
UPON ROLL CALL, COUNCIL MEMBERS FERRARI, SANDVOLD, WILLIS, WOLFF,
SCHANK, PAULSEN AND HAFER VOTING "AYE" AND COUNCIL MEMBERS NONE
VOTING `NAY", THE MAYOR DECLARED THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION PASSED
AND APPROVED THIS 13TH DAY OF JUNE 2023.
